What We Do
Our focus is on empowering communities through all our thematic programs designed to address education, health, environmental conservation, and economic challenges.
Promotion of sexual reproductive health and rights (SRHR) among young women and girls.
The organization focuses on ensuring that all women and girls regardless of which social class they come from are well equipped with knowledge about their bodies and changes that come with it. Through educational campaigns, the organization has helped educate women and girls on menstrual hygiene, provision of sanitary pads to girls and provision of reading materials to these women and girls. The organization helps women and girls to screen for sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) and help them get treatment in case they are infected.
Basic Education
Income-Generating Activities
To fight poverty, we promote skills in agronomy, tailoring, metal fabrication, carpentry, and hairdressing. We also support poultry and goat keeping, art and crafts, and micro-lending schemes like savings and credit groups to strengthen economic independence.
Environmental Conservation
We engage sensitization programs on tree planting around schools, land lords or urban plot owners of land for both nature conservation and commercial purposes to fight poverty where we encourage the community invest in planting big farms of trees for habitat of wildlife, control of soil erosion and landslides, embrace glory of nature and creation in our communities especially on public dry land, waste management and wetlands protection.
Community Healthcare services
Under which, the organization undertakes community medical and health care including HIV/Aids services to the medically needy in urban and hard to reach mountain areas of Mt. Rwenzori.
Savings and Credit
We come together as women, pull small funds from each one of us and put together as savings and credits among ourselves as one way we can improve or increase our income base at household and community level.
Water & Sanitation
We mobilise on water safety precautions towards disease control and training and procure water purification for household use. We have programs of water provision in areas where water is a big challenge especially in hard to reach mountainous areas of Mt. Rwenzori where women travel long distances in search for water. This can only work upon realization of enough funding to supplement our meager financial base.
