Foundation For Women & Children's Sustainable Livelihood

Foundation for women and children’s sustainable livelihood is a registered community based organization located in Kasese District, western Uganda. The organization was started with an aim of addressing challenges facing at-risk formerly married women, street kids, school going age drop outs, HIV/Aids orphans, victims of wars, neglected, abandoned children, young single mother (child mothers), older persons, PWDS, issues related to climate change, nature conservation, disaster management, end family domestic violence and conflicts resolution and management, poor farming practices, community health care/HIV/Aids care and support, reproduction health, sexual violence and harassment (a one’s free choice to exercise), women and girl child economic empowerment and education, immense poverty at household and community level.

  • Overwhelming  number of OVCS on demand for care and support
  • Inadequacy funds to address challenges highlighted
  • Meager  income base or generation projects

  • Domestic violence and conflicts in the community one of the major  cause of high rate of divorce/family neglect, child neglect, abandonment, street kids, early child commercial labour, early and forced marriage 
  • Violence of human rights especially among women/youth  and children in poor communities
  • Negative impact on climate change due to lack of  nature conservation (tree planting)
  • Poor mind set change in most communities as a result of ignorance and illiteracy 
  • Information and communication technology gaps ( poor networking system due to lack of technical know-how and equipment)
